After some pretty significant impulse buys in January (a $60 Ryan Adams ticket, $75 on a juice cleanse, a $200 birthday shop) it’s definitely time to rain it in. The only “splurge” I’m allowing myself is to get my Jason Isbell poster framed at if there’s a 60% off sale (and there’s always a 60% off sale.) I ordered a lot of things around the holidays, and many of them didn’t work out the way I’d hoped. I need to make sure that everything makes it back to its proper home. Basically – February is all about getting a grip on my finances. I’ve been trying to refrain from admitting it out loud, but I’m starting to finally accept that I’ll need a new car soon, so I’ve started researching cost, what I might like, etc. I’d really like to drive for Uber or Lyft on nights or weekends to supplement the cost and I’d like to sock away a considerable down payment this month.

Of course, I’m saying all of this with the assumption that my life is not going to fall out from under me again 🙂 Cautious optimism is the name of the game.

What’s your biggest goal for this month?
