I feel like I’m a woman on an island of my own when I say this, but I. Love. Bathing suits. Shopping for swimsuits doesn’t cause a minor breakdown for me, and I don’t get overly worked up or angry about sizing. (Ironic, since with every other clothing item, I live and die by the size on the tag.) This year I’ve lost enough weight that most of my 16 bathing suits (yes, I counted at the end of last season) are too ill-fitting to pull off anymore, so I’ve been in the market for some new, affordable swimwear. A few of my picks for this season:
Albion Fit Charade Swimsuit: I am in. love. with this suit (and it doesn’t hurt that it was designed by my friend Brooke White.) Albion Fit teamed up with the Girls With Glasses for a few pieces, all of which I love, but I could never pull the trigger on any of the pricey pieces – the matching rashguard would be a phenomenal pick for tubing down the river, though!
Zara Tropical Print Bikini: I’m a big fan of bandeau tops, since I hate tan lines and love strapless dresses. I also like pink, purple, and fun prints, so this set from Zara is a hit for me. It’s pretty affordable at $39.80 for the set, and both pieces could be interchanged with other swim sets.
Old Navy Striped Sets: Stripes seem to be on-trend for the summer, and I love them paired with retro-style high waist bottoms. (Actually, I love black and white stripes paired with anything.) Old Navy is featuring them heavily in their early summer swim line, along with bold prints like florals and paisley.
And a bonus: not swimwear, but definitely pool (and drool) worthy, Sam Edelman Dana sandals. These are so cute I could die. Since I usually don’t wear the cutest footwear (lots of flats and running shoes,) I like a bold, statement sandal. The cage and mini-heel make these super cute for summer resort vacations and work.
you go girl for not hating bathing suit shopping! You’ve got some cute options 🙂 I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it either. I am indifferent, depends on my mood that day 😛
I just love having bathing suits, so I will put up with whatever I have to in order to have a drawer full 🙂
I haven’t gone bathing suit shopping since I was a kid! I definitely want to get something! I love the options you have here, especially the one designed by our lovely Brooke. The Charade/polka dot one is so cute and vintage, I absolutely love it! My pool-side look as of now is my Ghostbusters tee with the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man on it (super cute!) and my Colts shorts…I know—it’s not good, haha! I need to fake some confidence and wear a nice bathing suit one of these days!
