I have started to really focus on tracking my caloric intake and making sure I’m getting all the right nutrients, but I still find it hard to eat breakfast. I know it’s an important part of my day, and I always set out with great intentions to wake up a few minutes early to have some cereal or a banana (I know that these are not great complete breakfasts, but it’s what I try to ease myself into.) For some reason I just have it in my head that breakfast means empty calories, which is not true at all.
Vega One is launching the #OneChange campaign to help people make sure that they get nutrients they need and overcome their #OneChange persona (I’m a Number Cruncher) and succeed in their 2014 health goals. They sent me some samples, and I whipped up some yummy recipes to combat my breakfast skipping and help me get some of the nutrients I’m missing out on.
- one pouch of VegaOne All-in-One Nutritional Shake in French Vanilla
- one frozen banana (can use a fresh one, I freeze mine for better texture in smoothies)
- one tablespoon of peanut butter
- ~3/4 cup of ice
- 1/4 cup of milk (almond, soy, regular, whatever you use)
Break banana in half and put all ingredients in blender. Blend until smooth and enjoy! (358 calories)
I’m usually a chocolate girl when it comes to my protein shakes or smoothies, but I really, really like this French Vanilla. It almost tastes like cake batter and it doesn’t have a gritty texture like some powders. It blends really smoothly in the blender.
For mornings where I don’t have time to mix up something that fancy, I dump milk, a pouch, and peanut butter in a blender bottle and go. I still get the cake batter-y goodness in an easy to-go bottle.

I was selected to participate in this program as a member of SweatPink. I received the product for review, but all opinions are my own.
