Tune Tuesday: Taking it Back to the 90’s

You know all those people who say “man I was born in the wrong era, I’m a 50’s/60’s/70’s kid all the way”? I’m not one of those. I have a deep, un-ending, un-changing love for the 90’s. (Sixx thinks I should be ashamed of it – this, coming from a guy who looks like 1983 Sunset Strip threw him up a few decades too late.) Reality Bites and Singles are two of my favorite movies, nearly all of my favorite music is from the era – and I even love the terrible fashion. One of my favorite outfits is a pair of stirrups I found during the 90’s revival at Gap last year and an awful corduroy/red and black flannel button-down shirt that I recovered from my grandma’s closet last summer. I wish desperately that I could have been part of the Seattle grunge scene, with thick black eyeliner and chunky Doc Marten’s.

Instead, it’s 2012, and I present to you my 90’s jams of the week.

Screaming Trees, Nearly Lost You

Temple of the Dog, Hunger Strike

Jane’s Addiction, Jane Says

Extreme, Hole Hearted

Gin Blossoms, Found Out About You

What about you? Do you love the 90’s?
